Vice Admiral Brown is former commander, Naval Information Forces. A 1986 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, he holds a bachelor’s degree in oceanography, a master’s degree in oceanography from the University of California San Diego, and a master’s degree in meteorology and physical oceanography from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. As a flag officer, he served as deputy commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Space, U.S. Strategic Command, and in 2014 he was appointed as the head of the Navy’s space cadre.
