Lieutenant Commander Fujii is the deputy chief for the Foreign Liaison Section in the Ministry of Defense Maritime Staff Office. As a P-3C pilot, he has served at Air Patrol Squadron 2 and Fleet Air Wing 4. He has flown 3,200 hours and deployed to antipiracy missions in the Gulf of Aden as well as exercises Kakadu, Aman, and Cobra Gold, and completed a staff tour at Fleet Air Wing 4. He is a graduate of the Japan National Defense Academy and the JMSDF Staff College.
